How many miles to the gallon should i be getting in my skoda fabia 1.4 8v mpi (2001). I drive sensibly?

the one i had did 40- 45 miles to the gallon.|||I drive a Skoda Octavia 1.9 Diesel with an automatic gearbox and on long runs it returns 56 m.p.g. A full tank of diesel will normally take me about 600 miles. I would therefore think that your 1.4 Fabia should do just as well as this.|||about 40 to the gallon I reckon|||Depends how much town / motorway running you do, but I'd expect at least 35mpg town, up to 50mpg on a run, so long as you don't hammer it.|||about 30000 as it will normally be on the back of a breakdown lorry.|||wtf is a skhoda??
